“The energy of the mind is the essence of life.”
Mantras are a great way to reinforce a positive and uplifting message into our daily life. The mind believes what it is told, so when you feed your brain the right information you can change the way you think and avoid the negativity that can so often weigh us down. To help you do this, we’re got four positive mantras for you to try throughout the day.
Mantra #1 – “Today, I Will Choose Happiness”
You can easily introduce a daily mantra into your routine by starting with a morning mantra or self affirmation as soon as you wake up. This is probably the most affective time to do so, as your morning will determine how the rest of your day is likely to go. Start your day off on the right foot and tell yourself that today, you will choose happiness, at least three times until it fully resonates. You can do this anywhere, even while still lying in bed, but looking yourself in the eyes in the mirror is a great way to perform a mantra as it allows you to fully connect and communicate with yourself.
Mantra #2 – “Today, I Will Breathe Deeply, And Go Slowly”
Stress is a part of everyday life, and after the hustle and bustle of getting up for work, getting ready, leaving the house in a rush, and then eventually sitting down at our desks to a mountain of work, we very rarely give ourselves time to breathe, relax and reflect. When you get to this point in your day, usually sometime in the afternoon when the coffee spike starts to dwindle and you start to wonder how you can get through the rest of the day, take a few moments to yourself and repeat this mantra to yourself, “Today, I will breathe deeply and go slowly.” Remember that life is not a race, and making yourself ill with stress, worry and too much hard work won’t help anybody. In the midst of chaos, remind yourself to take deep breaths and be still.
Mantra #3 – “I Am Enough”
As the working day starts to come to an end and you look back on the events of the day, what you achieved, what you were happy with, what you would like to improve on, tell yourself over and over that “I am enough” or “It is enough to do my best”. It is easy to beat yourself up and compare yourself to others, to feel as though you will never be as good as you would like to be. But when all is said and done, as long as you did your best throughout the day and got the job done, you have nothing to be stressed about. Be confident in yourself and your abilities, be proud of the person you are, and be satisfied that you really are enough, you don’t need to be anyone or anything else.
Mantra #4 – “I Am Thankful For Everything I Have”
Ending the day with gratitude is a great way to keep positive right before bedtime. As the evening draws to a close, it is the perfect time to think about all that has happened, and decide what you can do differently to make the next day an even better one. Be grateful and thankful for all of the blessings in your life and look forward to all of the good things that are waiting for you. Go to bed feeling cleansed of the day’s events and rejuvenated for what is to come, using whatever positive mantra you feel will allow you to achieve that state of mind.
