A little voice in my head always chides me: you don’t know what is best. You don’t know what is right. You don’t know what you want to do or should be doing. Whenever I have to make a choice I feel like I’m mourning all the other options which will never come to be. And, while it may start with something specific like a job proposal, the uncertainty and the anxiety seep into everything else in my life. I end up feeling anxious, uncertain and worried full stop.
Overthinking becomes exhausting.

But sometimes there is a way out: our intuition. Everyone will have their own way of describing intuition. I’d say that it’s something more than just a “gut feeling” or a passing thought. It is a part of who I am. For me, it’s that gentle push I feel when I take a certain path. It’s a pit in my stomach that warns me when something’s off. It’s that subtle feeling of confidence that lets me know that I am making the right decisions.

The problem with intuition is that it speaks in a quiet voice. It doesn’t scream for attention. And that’s the reason why so many of us outright ignore it. We aren’t tapping into its potential and we aren’t using it the way we should.

Luckily, there are a number of ways to boost our intuition. Don’t worry – you have intuition already, even if you think you don’t. You just need to learn how to listen to its quiet but powerful voice.

Meditation

Take a few minutes every day to empty your mind from constant negative chatter. Try focusing on your breath or on a candle. You will find dozens of different approaches here on our site.

Stop Overthinking

Take action. Whenever you feel like you should do something just do it. You have a sudden impulse to call a friend? Pick up your phone, it’ll probably be when your friend needs to hear from you the most.

There are many practices that can help us experience a deeper part of ourselves. But there is something unique about music. Of course, not all music will lead to a spiritual experience. But just think a moment about it and you will surely find that there is that particular song that just “speaks to your soul.” It does, indeed, and you will want to listen for its helpful guidance. But remember, your higher self always offers guidance enveloped in peace. Don’t listen to negative voices. Just tune in to your intuition with peaceful and relaxing songs like the one below.
