When we think of meditating we think of the usual method of meditation which involves sitting on a mat with the sounds of wind chimes and monk chanting playing in the background. Although that method of meditation works wonderfully, helping your mind escape all thought and relaxing your body; there are ways of creative meditation you should try!

5. Meditation Through Art
Meditation through art has become very popular in recent years, and for a good reason! It’s a form of creative meditation and there are an array of art genres you can try out, such as; water-colouring, sketching, drawing landscapes, there are even colouring books for adults!
Meditation through art is the perfect route to take if you’re looking for meditation practices for beginners or want to try something different.
4. Gazing Meditation
You’ve probably found yourself zoning out at work, staring at the wall, counting the ceiling tiles. There’s a reason for this; staring at nothing helps our thoughts evacuate our brains. Believe it or not, it’s actually a great method of meditation. Accompany your gazing meditation with some relaxing white noise to help your thoughts fizzle out.
Thinking about nothing is extremely good for your mind as it gives your brain some time off. However recommend doing kind of meditation at home, as you could find your boss a little unimpressed…
3. Keep A Journal
Living in a fast-paced world of careers, commuting and communication it’s hard to take some time just to vent. Preventing that bottle of frustration, built-up-stress and anger from exploding; and get a journal. This is a wonderful method of meditation as it helps you get all those bottled up feelings and thought out!
Also it’s a flexible method of meditation because you can do it anywhere! On your lunch-break, on the commute to work, and of course as meditation at home!
2. Give A Massage
Giving can be as good as receiving! This is a creative method of meditation because it has many purposes: massaging someone keeps your mind off everything else, giving your brain a break from the usual thoughts. Also it creates a terrific bond between you and a significant other.
It’s perfect for doing meditation at home, as it easy to do: All you need is a flat surface, some lotion or oil and a relaxing backing track to help calm the energy of the room.
Yes cooking is a perfect method of meditation! We’re not saying there’s anything soothing about preparing a dinner party for the in-laws, or cooking after a long-day at work. But cooking something new, learning a recipe you’ve always wanted to cook does wonders for your mind!
Not only does cooking keep your mind off the busy day you’ve had, but at the end you get something out of it! I think we could all agree on a mutual level that anything that results in food can only be a great thing!
