5 Reasons Why We Love The Autumn Months

Autumn is here, it’s official. It’s the time of the year where clothes get warmer, nights in get cosy, and nights out get wild (wild weather that is!). The long dark days are well and truly on the way, here are 5 reasons why you should be looking forward to them and why Autumn is the best season of all.

1. Halloween

It wouldn’t be a ‘best of’ Autumn list if we didn’t mention the best holiday of all – Halloween! With the costumes, the decorations, the pumpkin carving and oh so many sweets (some things you don’t grow out of), there is no doubt that halloween does a great job of brightening up the dark autumn days.

2. Autumn Weather

Not many people like the cold, wet, windy weather that comes with Autumn, but we can all appreciate the odd cosy night in by the fireside with a hot chocolate accompanied by our favourite movie or television show. The cold weather is also a great excuse to expand our wardrobe and stock up on all kinds of warm winter wear such as hats, scarves and winter boots.

3. Beauty Is Everywhere

Even though everything is technically dying, there is nothing more beautiful than nature in Autumn. With the change of the seasons, the leaves start turning every shade of red, orange and brown and the ground becomes a blanket of multi-coloured foliage. Autumn walks are one of life’s great pleasures, don’t miss the pivotal moment before the leaves are well and truly gone and winter fully sets in, enjoy the autumn days while you can!

4. Comfort Food

When spring and summer are over, the light, simple meals that go well with hot weather tend to be replaced with heartier, heavier foods that will heat us up and make the cold, dark days a little easier. From soups and stews to pies and pasta bakes, comfort food is a whole lot more fun and is essential throughout the Autumn months if you want to get cosy and stay indoors.

5. Hot Drinks

Yes, you can have hot drinks at anytime of the year, but you only truly appreciate and enjoy them when you come in out of the brisk cold weather and are desperateΒ to get warm. Whether you’re partial to tea or hot chocolate, a pumpkin spiced latte, or something with a bit more punch such as mulled wine or a hot whiskey – Autumn is the best time of the year to indulge in delicious, piping hot drinks of any kind.

So there you have it, our top 5 reasons why the Autumn months and Autumn days are a thing to be celebrated. We hope you are making the most of the change in the seasons and are taking the time to stop and look around, soaking up the breathtaking beauty that can only be found in nature.
