When we surround ourselves with negative thoughts, negative people and negative situations of course the outcome isn’t going to be great. Take a step back. Evaluate what are the things or people in your life who don’t have a positive impact on your habits and self-esteem.

6. Switch Up Your Playlist

Many of us have our earphones plugged in, but have you really thought about how your choice of music is effecting you? Even if you don’t listen to Coldplay all day and night, listening to the same tracks day-in day-out can have a negative effect on you.

Take advantage of the power of music and switch up your playlist. Playing music which makes you feel better boosts your self-esteem more than you would think! 4. Stay Away From Spending Hours On Social Media

Spending hours on social media can be poisonous for our self esteem. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending hours scrolling on Instagram, talking with my friends on Facebook, watching videos of cats knocking objects of tables on Youtube. But it’s good to take a break.

The infamous problem with social media is that a lot of people use it as a way to make their life seem better than it actually is. That girl you see on Instagram in a bikini on the beach in Bali probably took 100 photos just to get that one perfect photo. That person on Facebook in the perfect relationship may actually not be that happy. It’s easy to let this make us question our own lives. So log off for a while each day.

3. Do Something You Are Good At

We’re all good at something. Spending time doing something you’re good at is a great way to boost your self esteem! It’s a key way to learn to love yourself. It can be anything, from knitting to rollerblading! What’s important is that the more you do this the more you’re self esteem will build.

Depending on the season it can be difficult to get outdoors, but it is so important. Staying active is key to self-esteem and confidence building. It just makes you feel good. With the mixture of fresh air and the process of clearing your mind. Even taking up an indoor activity like dance class or rock climbing will do wonders for you body, soul and mind!
