What looks like a great plan in order to lose weight may sometimes not really be so… Here are 5 common errors you can make during what you believe to be a healthy weight loss diet.
Replacing a Meal with Just Fruit
A healthy meal should contain the right percentage of each nutrient. Just filling yourself up with fruit may look like a healthy meal, but in truth you are not eating right. Fruit is not balanced enough, and it does not fill you up! In just a couple of hours you will find yourself staring at the fridge with a strong desire for something to fill that uncomfortable hole in your stomach.
Finally, some fruit is also packed full of sugars, which do not help with your healthy weight loss diet. One fruit works well as a snack, but if you are eating a whole meal you might have to consider adding a slice of bread and a yoghurt to it!
Eating Only Once a Day
Skipping meals and eating just one time per day is incredibly bad for your metabolism. Heading out without eating breakfast in the morning, or avoiding eating at night is the worst thing you could do on a healthy diet plan. Your metabolism will get slower, as your body fears the little amount of food that goes through it and will try and “save” the fats by consuming less energy. End result? You feel lethargic and in a bad mood.
In conclusion: don’t stop eating through the day. Always have a small healthy snack at the ready, such as almonds or a fruit.
The fact that it has “light” in its name does not mean that it is dietetic. Things that are labeled as light foods are not always the most healthy meal you can choose. Always check the label behind and see if they truly are that much more diet friendly than their original version.
Drinking Just Juice
Just juice as a snack is not enough, and you are influencing your weight loss if you are doing this. Juice contains a high amount of sugars that are quickly processed through the body, that after a short amount of time will be left craving for more as it has depleted its reserves.
Instead of just drinking juice, try adding some cereal to your snack. They will make you feel satisfied for longer.
Just Salad or Just Meat
If you are eating just one of these for a meal, you are not eating right to lose weight. For healthy weight loss meal, you need to have a complete diet, or you risk feeling hungry when in need of nutrients that your body naturally craves for.
