Naked meditation. For many of us we squirm at the idea or shiver at thoughts of how cold it may be. But as it turns out naked meditation can be really good for you. You may ask “how does sitting naked making om noises for half an hour help me become a better person?”.
Well you’ve come to right place my friend. At Meditation Relax Club we’re fully supportive of getting zen on, butt naked. Let’s look at the benefits of naked meditation.
5. Build a healthy relationship with yourself
Practising meditation in general helps you build a healthy relationship with yourself, so how does naked meditation improve that? Well there is something very raw about meditating naked. You are vulnerable and in order to truly access yourself, your fears, your energy, your spirituality, being naked while meditating helps your mind, body and soul open up and become zen.
4. Gain confidence and a positive body image
Billboards, Hollywood’s perception of perfect and photoshop have outlined the unattainable perfect body image, for both genders! This can make even the most seemingly confident person be a little body shy. We have lumps and bumps we wish weren’t there.
But hey! They are! Let’s stop wasting energy judging ourselves and work on accepting ourselves. Naked meditation helps you gain confidence in your own skin!
3. Naked Meditation can help increase labido
There is a difference between sex and sexuality. Sex is the act of intercourse, but sexuality is the capacity of humans to have erotic experiences and responses. Naked meditation allows us to feel pure, and we can access our sexuality better. Which with regular practise we can reel in the sexual benefits including better orgasms, stamina and an increased labido.
2. Naked Meditation improves your social skills
Some of us are naturally shy, some of us suffer greatly from social anxiety, but what they both have in common is the lack in confidence. Learning to love yourself starts with the source, your own body. Naked meditation helps you come to love your body, even those imperfections you’ve disliked for years. You are unique, and your uniqueness is beautiful.
1. Feel Free
I think we’re all a little guilty here. Some of us enjoy walking around in our own space undisturbed, and fully naked. We get a kind of kick out of it. Well meditating naked has the same kind of kick. You feel a little bit freer every time you do it, because you are more comfortable with yourself each time!
But how does one partake in naked meditation?
Good question! The technique isn’t that different to regular meditating. I would recommend however that the surface you’re sitting/lying on isn’t dirty or covered in sharp objects. Also if you get a little chilly cover yourself in a blanket or a scarf. You should always stay warm during meditation as it helps the energy flow throughout your mind, body and soul.
