How To Get Healthy Skin In 6 Easy Steps

Beautiful skin is something we all want; skin that glows, is smooth and wrinkle free and doesn’t show any signs of acne or acne scarring. Not everyone is blessed with perfect genetics whereby we naturally have glowing, healthy skin. Most of us have to work at our skincare regime in order to make this happen. Here are some steps you can take if you want clear skin that positively glows.

Step 1 – Assess Your Diet. Some foods are great for your skin so including them in your diet and removing sugary, unhealthy foods can go a long way to improving your skin. Some foods that contribute to having healthy skin are avocados, salmon, berries, tomatoes and eggs.

Step 2 – Get A Better Skincare Regime. Wash your face daily and use a decent moisturiser and eye cream, avoid overly perfumed products that might derail and unbalance your skin. Avoid using too many products or products with harsh ingredients, keep it simple and you’ll have clear skin in no time.

Step 3 – Wear Sunscreen. We hear it time and time again, but that’s because the sun really is bad news for the health of our skin. If you’re concerned with anti-ageing, prevention is the best cure. Wearing a high factor sunscreen (SPF 30 or above) on your face daily can greatly reduce the risk of premature wrinkles or ageing skin.

Step 4 – Keep Hydrated. Drinking lots of water throughout the day keeps our skin hydrated and glowing. Beautiful skin comes from the inside, so if you keep yourself healthy your skin will soon show the affects also.Untitled design (98)

Step 4 – Get A Good Nights Rest. We all know how terrible we look when we don’t sleep properly – bags under the eyes, black circles, puffiness and bloating etc. Our skin repairs and restores itself overnight so it makes sense that if we don’t get enough sleep the health of our skin will suffer. If you want beautiful skin getting your beauty sleep is vital!

Step 5 – Take Up Yoga Or Meditation. Stress is bad for our health and bad for our skin – stress hormones worsen conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. To keep stress in check try some relaxing activities such as yoga or meditation to calm yourself down and keep hormones at bay.

Step 6 – Increase Vitamin C Levels. Vitamin C is an important vitamin when it comes to healthy skin. It enhances the complexion and has anti-ageing qualities, improving collagen production and enhancing the skin’s ability to protect itself from UV damage from the sun. Include Vitamin C rich foods in your diet such as citrus fruits, sweet potatoes and broccoli, or take a supplement every day.

Those were our tips for how to get healthy skin, we hope you found them useful!
