When Thanksgiving rolls around we look forward to wonderful meal ahead; with turkey, mashed potatoes and all the trimmings! As we wipe away the drool from our mouth’s, make our plans for the holiday, we forget about the things to be thankful for. With all the festivity surrounding Thanksgiving, it’s easy to forget the true meaning of it. To be grateful for all the good in our lives. It’s time to do some meditation on gratitude.
Meditate On The Good In Your Life
Sometimes in our hectic schedules it’s hard to see the good in the bad. I know life can have it’s fair share of frustrations, complications and quirks. But there are so many things to be thankful for. Take some time out around the holidays and so some meditation on gratitude.
You’ll find you’re mood uplifted, feeling more positive and even a bit warm and fuzzy inside. Who doesn’t want to feel like that eh?
Reflect On What Could Be In Improved
We have a lot to be grateful for, that’s a fact. But it’s good to take some time to reflect on what could be improve in our lives. This can be anything from your mindset, to your attitude towards others, to changing your diet to be a little healthier.
Taking time to reflect and meditate will help clear your mind. With a clearer mind you can view your life from an objective point of view. Making it easier to see the parts of your life or attitude which could do with a fix up!
Thank Your Loved Ones
It’s important to look around us and thank those who have been supportive, offering us their love and help. Maybe go the extra mile this Thanksgiving and tell those close to you, friends and family, thank you. Thank you for the time you made me a cup of coffee that morning when I couldn’t wake up. Thank you for the hug you gave me after a long day. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you. And so forth.
If you’re not great at telling people thank you. Show it! Give a little sign of affection or gratitude to those who have been good to you over the year. It will mean a lot more than you think.
Thank The Little Things
It’s always important to stop and smell the roses. Appreciating the small things in life such as fresh air in the morning, a smile a stranger gave you, or free samples at the grocery store! There are little pockets of joy everywhere. We just need to keep an eye out for them.
Once you start looking for the great little things, the bad things won’t seem to have as much as a negative affect on you. Each little positive thing you notice will be one of those things to be thankful for. So when is a better time to start than at Thanksgiving!
At the core of your life the majority of things you have achieved has been a result of your determination and hard work. So it’s to thank yourself! It is important for each and everyone one of not to let our egos get ahead of themselves. But a little self-gratitude is good for the soul.
Take Thanksgiving as a time to be thankful for the things you have been able to do with your life! Be grateful for the positive impacts you have had on other people lives. Be grateful for the amount of good you have done for yourself. Be grateful for who you are.
