The Origins of Lounge Music

The Origins of Lounge Music

It means living room, sofa, atrium, in one word, lounge.

The term comes from the sixties, where the music was used as background atmosphere in the hotels or in sophisticated cafes. The exotic touch of lounge music was a special mix of jazz, r&b and soul, until the digital revolution which adds the original sounds of ambient. Relax and enjoyment are the perfect sensation generated from lounge music.  Just close your eyes for a second, think of gold beaches, the sound of the waves in the ocean, maybe a red-passion cocktail in your hand. Easy ah? Well this is the power of lounge music, which has the pleasure to put you in the place of your dream, just listen to it.

In the years lounge also became the word to say “relax“, “have a rest“, verbs or adjective this is what it means.

Besides if you listen to lounge music  it’s easy to relate this kind of sounds to a distinct situation of lifestyle, bars and pubs with a particular and specific interior design where the clients have to feel confortable and first of all, relax.  Following this logic, a new way of living the movida has rised.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.

You are my inspiration, I possess few web logs and infrequently run out from post :). “He who controls the past commands the future. He who commands the future conquers the past.” by George Orwell.
