It’s a big, scary world out there. Sometimes, we just feel powerless, small and uninfluential in front of events. Here’s what to do when that happens!
Everyone has his slumps, but the trick lies in knowing how to get back up once you are feeling down. Don’t let other people kick you while you are on the ground; find ways to jump back at them and at what life throws at you. Here is a list of things that can help you feeling powerful: choose your favorites, and stick them in your everyday routine!
Get Organized for the Day in Advance
Stop trying to force yourself to get all your work done at the last possible minute. Plan your day, your week, your month in advance. Doing so will make you feel in control of what happens, and prepared to face everyday life.
Have a Positive Thought for the Day
Start your day with positive feelings. As soon as you get out of bed, make a point about being nice to someone, or shining a light on another’s person day. Start by acknowledging that today you can make the world a better place; just a small action of peace and love can make everything more wonderful.
“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”
Listen to a TED Talk
TED Talks. My go-to-place when I feel like my faith in the human race is wavering, and all hope is lost. Search for them on YouTube if you don’t know them already, and start one up when you are feeling blue. The beautiful and courageous people that take a stand and talk before you all have something in common. They have something to teach!
Organize and Declutter Your Home
A cluttered home equals a cluttered mind. Find some time to clean up, and focus on how it makes you feel better. Isn’t it wonderful? Having a beautiful, clean room all for ourselves to enjoy or relax in?
Sing or Listen to Music
Music can heal your soul. When I’m feeling down, I start singing to myself, and everything gets better. While sitting, doing yoga, or just lazing at home and feel like you are having a rough time. Start up some music like this in those cases:
Look at what you have, and be grateful. Don’t look at others, and shun feeling of jealousy. What you have is enough. You have gained it yourself: it is precious, it is beautiful, and it represents you. Be proud!
Say What You Feel
Don’t force yourself to keep your feelings bottled up inside. May they be positive or negative, try and express them. Make other people understand what you are experiencing, but remember to do it in a gentle and proactive manner.
I hope these tips can help you with feeling powerful, positive feeling when you need them the most. Remember: you are a force of nature, and nothing can stop you when you get your mind to it. Be strong, and no obstacle will ever be able to get in your way!
