Your happiness does not depend on others. Happiness is a natural state of the brain: to find it, you have to stop depending on something (or someone). Too often, happiness seems something unattainable, a chimera destined for the few who get everything they want from life. In other cases, you believe that happiness is only a passing state, a parenthesis destined to run out in the face of everyday difficulties.
Think about the happiness that exists (or not) in your life. What does this happiness depend on? From you? From others? One mistake you could make and that would make you feel unhappy is to depend on others to achieve your happiness. You need to learn to be happy.
When you depend on others, there will come a time when you will realize that you are not happy. When you build relationships of dependency with a partner, you could became a prisoner. By doing so, happiness will remain unattainable. Everything depends on you… This is why you need to reach your emotional independence: learn to be happy, every day. Nothing has the power to make you unhappy. You create every emotion. If you understand this, you realize that nothing has the power to make you suffer.
Stop worrying about what other people think: you need to believe in yourself and in your possibilities and not depend on approval, on how others want to see you. You have no reason to control everything, you do not have to please everyone. This is impossible to achieve and you will only be frustrated. Accept that the happiness of others should not be your own. Think about yourself first, not others. Be selfish once in a while: it’s not as wrong as you might think it is!
First, you must be aware of your dependency situation and start acting accordingly. When you begin to give yourself the value you deserve and realize that your happiness depends only on yourself, it will be time to react to things that you previously avoided happening. If someone turns up against you or tries to redirect your life in your own way, react! Aside from having an adrenaline rush, you will feel great!
For each person, happiness is in different things. For this reason, we cannot let it depend on others, since it is something personal! What does happiness mean to you? This is the first question you need to answer. But do not make the mistake of thinking about someone else. Now it’s time for you to think about yourself, you’re the first thing. Be responsible and find your happiness.
Do not put yourself in the other’s hands. Do not depend on what the other is, do or tell them to feel good and happy. Whenever you expect something from someone, first do it for yourself. Always be the first to analyze, to appreciate, to praise yourself, to take time for yourself, to encourage your dreams, to believe in your ideals, to value your opinions, to give yourself affection, to forgive yourself, to do what you love, to give value to what you do, to love yourself completely, loving every corner of what makes up who you are.
Always remember: your happiness is your most precious jewel. Take care of it! The first step to being happy is to be responsible for yourself: after all, no one will do for you what you do not!
