Practicing mindfulness is the single best thing you can do for yourself. Mindfulness meditation teaches you to slow down your monkey mind, get rid of your inner saboteur, and calm your body and your mind. You don’t need music to sit in mindful contemplation, but it can make the practice feel less awkward. After all, sitting in silence in the dimness of the early morning looks like an open invitation to fall right back asleep.
