When you’re feeling tired, blue or anxious, a good walk can be really soothing and regenerating. Walking meditation is the newest form of natural meditation we have at the moment and it’s during a relaxing walk in nature that we can know ourselves better. Take advantage of these close spring days, where the sun is warm and light hours start to be longer. While walking pay attention to your breathing, to the steps you take and the awareness of being there. If you are lucky enough to be in a park or in the middle of nature, try to smell the fresh air by taking some deep breaths, controlling your inhaling and exhaling.
If you love walking with music in your ears, this can be the occasion to play some different music than the usual workout music. Something more relaxing and meditative.
Don’t be shy and download the song above from SoundCloud and you’re welcome to play it while practicing your walking meditation. The song is called Spirit Essences and it’s contained in the album “Spirit Essences – Brainwave Generator Chakra Balancing Relaxing Music” by Hatha Evans, who created this collection of meditation music with sounds of nature that you can play as background music for your relaxations.
Walking meditation has different health benefits starting from reducing stress, being a perfect way to move for sedentary or simple lazy people, helping you find calm and inner peace and improving your concentration.
By the way, walking is something that everybody can do, and it’s good to do it in a most relaxing a silent place, wearing comfy clothes and shoes. If you’re lucky enough to live close the sea, you may enjoy a good walk on the beach, barefooted.
